| Set
in the serene desert of Rajasthan and by the virtue of being the
first heritage hotel of India, the Ajit Bhawan is the pride of
the desert city of Jodhpur. The palace was built for Maharaja
Ajit Singhji, the brother of Maharaja Umaid Singhji of the erstwhile
Jodhpur state. The late Maharaja's family still lives within the
premises of Ajit Bhawan but has opened the doors to receive guests
from the outside world. It is located near the Circuit House on
the Main road, 2 km from the city centre. It is a 10-minute drive
away from the airport and the railway station.
Every
suite is unique with a distinctive feel of the era gone by. The
use of antiquities from various periods and family photographs
create an ambiance more suggestive of a private home rather than
a hotel room. These suites have luxurious marble bathrooms and
all modern amenities. Hidden in the rustic and blossoming landscape,
surrounded by lawns, are the unique garden bungalows. Hotel facilities
include travel desk, barber shop, courier service, front desk,
free newspaper, parking, bar, banquet, restaurant, safe deposit
box, conference facilities, luggage storage, swimming pool, barbeque,
tennis court, health club, village jeep safari and Laundry among
other things.
A
unique feature about the Ajit Bhawan Heritage Hotel is its collection
of the vintage cars in which guests can enjoy a heritage joyride.
The hotel serves exotic rajasthani cuisine as well as Indian and
continental. The hotel bar Prince's Bar serves a range of Indian
and foreign liquor.
Ajit
Bhawan Palace stands as an oasis of hospitality and warm Rajput
charm offering a old world elegance with the modern comforts of
a classic heritage hotel. |
