| Sukhdham
Heritage Hotel Sukhdham Kothi is one hotel, which is all made
up of dressed red sandstone amidst a lush orchard. With its open
terraces, cool arcades, foliated arches and intricately carved
stone screens Sukhdham is a harmonious blend of English and Indian
architecture.
Constructed in 1870 by the British rulers of that time, the mansion
was built as a residence for the British surgeon in Kota. Later
the mansion was renamed Sukhdham Haveli by Maharaja Umed Singhji
Bahadur in 1922. The GOC of the Kota State, Thakur Prithvi Singhji
became the occupant of this palace and his descendants continue
to live here even today.
All
the 14 rooms of the Haveli bear a traditional look even though
they are fitted with modern amenities like direct dialing phones,
attached bath with running hot/cold water, cable televison and
24-hour room service. Other facilities extended by the hotel include
a swimming pool, conference facilities, doctor on call, laundry,
car rental and parking, The multi-cuisine restaurant serves delectable
Indian and continental fare. Guests are also entertained through
games, conducted jeep safaris and folk music and dances. For the
bird lovers this place is a paradise.
Sukhdham
literally means "The Abode of Bliss" and this is exactly
what the visitor experiences, with the peacocks and multitude
of birds in the mango groves and long leisurely walks through
the scented trees and shrubs along the walkways.
