Castle
Durjan Niwas is a small but beautiful fortress palace built in
the early 19th century by Thakur Durjan Singh of the Champawat
clan of Marwar. Many changes and additions have led the old fortress
and the present day structure to be just a shadow of the original.
The building was initially built in the Indo - European style
of architecture with separate parts for ladies and gents. Located
in the Daspan village of Jalore district of Jodhpur, the castle,
which is just 3 kms away from the airport and I km from the railway
station has been fully renovated.
All
the 15 air-conditioned rooms and one luxury suite of this heritage
hotel are spacious with facilities of attached bath with hot/
cold water, direct dialing telephone, television and 24 Hours
Room Service. All the rooms have a beautiful view of lush green
gardens. The multi cuisine dining hall serves scrumptious Indian,
continental and Rajasthani dishes with fresh vegetables grown
