The
Golden Castle Resort was originally built as a court by the famous
and gallant Guman Singh. Adjoining the Pachar Fort, the resort
resembles a European country mansion and the environs include
a lake, sprawling lawns and sand dunes. Located in the Sikar district
of Rajasthan, the resort is at a distance of about 90kms from
the airport and 11kms from railway station. With the descendants
of Guman Singh having thrown open their castle residence, tourists
have been making a beeline for it ever since.
The
Golden Castle Resort has 16 rooms in total, which can be divided
into 9 suites, 5 double and 2 single rooms. The air conditioned
bedrooms, styled in a traditional décor, are fitted with
all the modern amenities like bath tub, kitchen, cable T.V, tea
and coffee making facilities, direct dial phone, radio, writing
desk along with toiletries in bathroom. It has interesting chambers
like Diwane-Khas (dining hall) and the Rang Mahal (lobby) with
its collection of old family portraits, paintings and arched doorways.
Other hotel facilities include coffee shop travel desk, money
exchange, laundry, car rental and conference room, among other
things. Dining options range from Indian, especially Rajasthani
to continental dishes. There is also a cocktail lounge also.
