Built
in 1773 by Thakur Jagram Singhji, Jagram Durg is a battle-scarred
fort in midst of a picturesque landscape. Located in the Nimaj
village of Pali District in the Marwar region, Jagram Durg is
a heritage hotel that is 100 kms away from Jodhpur Airport and
15 kms from the railway Station. Converted into a heritage hotel
in 1995, part of Jagram Durg still continues to serve as the residence
of the royal family of Neemaj, while the rest of the fort is open
to guests.
All
the 14 rooms of the hotel furnished in heritage Rajasthani style,
are equipped with modern amenities. Care has been taken to retain
the original character of the place so the guests can have a feel
of the authentic royal ambience. The onsite restaurant serves
Indian, Continental as well as local food of the region. Activities
at the princely heritage hotel consist of jeep safaris to Ramdevji
temple at Birantiya and nearby Marwar villages. One can also take
a camel safari ride to visit the 9th century Magar Mandi temple.
The Chhattar Sagar Dam close by, is perfect for angling and bird
watching. The Black bucks, chinkara deer and blue bulls are easy
