| The
Laxmi Vilas Palace of Udaipur, a 21.58-acre site was built by
Maharana Bhupal Singh as the residence of the British political
agent Mr.Winn Gate in 1911. After the agent shifted, the palace
was renovated as a royal guesthouse and is currently maintained
by the Ashok group of hotels. Overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake,
the palace is an imposing structure located on a hillock with
a panaromic view of the Aravali hills at a distance of 27 kms
from the airport and 5 kms from the railway station.
This
heritage hotel still manages to retain a graceful ambience with
spacious rooms furnished with a traditional touch. The 10 royal
suites and 43 other rooms come equipped with attached bath with
hot & cold water, direct dialing telephone and colour TV with

The multi cuisine Padmini Restaurant serves Indian, Continental
