Rang Niwas Palace
Constructed
in the late18th century by Maharaja Sajjan Singh as a platform
to watch the ceremony of Sithala Asthami and dancing performances,
the Rang Niwas Palace was converted into a guesthouse for the
rulers of neighbouring states by Maharana Fateh Singhji in the
late 1920's by adding the upper floors. In 1955 Maharana Bhagwat
Singh gifted the Palace to his youngest brother Maharaj Arjun
Singh who used it as a private residence after which he converted
Rang Niwas into a Palace Hotel in 1975.
Set
in the verdant Girwa valley, surrounded by the Aravallis hills,
Hotel Rang Niwas Palace is ideally situated at the entrance of
Lake and City Palace complex, near famous tourist interests like
Lake Palace, City Palace, Pichola Lake, Jagdish Temple, Dudh Talai,
Sunset Point and Musical Fountain. It is a mere two km drive from
the railway station, 1.5 km from the bus stand and twenty kms
from airport.
The
hotel has 20 suites and rooms in total that can be divided into
4 double suites with ACs, 2 single suites with ACs, 6 deluxe rooms
and 8 standard rooms that are furnished with period furniture
having private balconies. Rang Niwas Palace is also equipped with
a swimming pool, travel desk, money exchange, laundry, car rental,
indoor games, library and a shopping arcade. On guest request,
the hotel can also arrange for horse or camel safaris, puppet
shows and folk dances. The hotel has a multi-cuisine restaurant
which is open from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm.
