Shiv
Niwas Palace Hotel
A
beautiful crescent adorning the southern end of the Palace complex,
the Shiv Niwas Palace Hotel was originally Maharana Fateh Singhji's
royal residence but later; the apartments around this beautiful
courtyard were used as a place for entertaining personal guests.
The Shiv Niwas Palace Hotel was the vision of Maharana Bhagwat
Singhji of Mewar, which led to its conversion into a luxury hotel,
intact with its original pristine glory. The heritage hotel, which
offers a stunning view over Lake Pichola, is situated at a distance
of 26 kms from the airport and 4 kms from the railway station.
All
the 34 rooms of the hotel are divided into different categories.
There is the two Imperial Suite, three Royal Suites, four Historic
Suites, eight Terrace Suites and fourteen Deluxe Rooms. The Imperial
suites have a green décor with glass inlay work on the
walls. Apart from the large sitting room, these suites also have
a fountain in the bedroom and silver coated furniture. The royal
suites are the honeymoon suites. The historic suites have a private
balcony and antique furniture while the deluxe rooms either offer
a private terrace or the view of the city.
Apart
from facilities like airport transfer, room service, bar, safe
deposit boxes, beauty parlor, shops, business center, travel agency,
laundry service, wake up call and restaurant, the Shiv Niwas Palace
Hotel also has a special recreation and health center that includes
video player, swimming pool, billiards, squash, boating, horse
riding, table tennis, holistic health treatment and Internet facilities
that are available on request.
A
band playing Scottish bagpipes on the lawns at sunset lends a
quaint charm to this beautiful Heritage Hotel of Udaipur.
