Commencing its corporate voyage in 1932, the Bhagat Group was founded by Late Sardar Bhagat Singh. Its first venture was a petrol station for Caltex in Patiala under the name of Bhagat Singh Motor Company. This still operates under the same name as a retail outlet for Hindustan Petroleum Company.

An ISO 9000 certified outlet, it is one of the largest retailers of petroleum products in the region.The Bhagat Group today comprises three companies: Bhagat Singh Motor Company, Bhagat Ford and Bhagat Hyundai. It extends across eight city locations in Punjab and Uttranchal and operates ten automobile dealership outlets in these states.

The Bhagat Group is currently operating several automobile dealerships for Ford India Limited and Hyundai Motor India Limited across the state of Punjab.

Bhagat Ford, set up in 1996, is one the stellar Ford dealers in India today. As the foremost Ford dealers in Punjab, it has dealerships at Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Bhathinda, Patiala, and Chandigarh. It also operates a Ford dealership in Dehradun.

The Bhagat Group is also among the leading Hyundai dealers in India. Established in 1998 and renowned as one of most reputed Hyundai dealers in Punjab, Bhagat Hyundai dealerships are located at Patiala, Bhathinda, Sangrur, Rajpura, and Mukatsar.
